Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus visits Netherlands

On April 23-25, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Oleg Kravchenko, visited the Hague to take part in the political consultations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. For the first time in the history of bilateral relations the consultations between the Foreign Ministries were held on the Deputy Ministers’ level. 

The Dutch delegation was headed by the Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, Pieter Jan Kleiweg de Zwaan. 

During the consultations, the sides discussed current state and prospects for the Belarusian-Dutch relations in political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as human rights issues, relations between Belarus and the EU, the regional situation. 

The sides confirmed mutual interest in further development of political dialogue, as well as trade, economic and investment cooperation.

During the visit to the Hague, O.Kravchenko also held a meeting with a group of experts in the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael. Deputy Foreign Minister presented Belarusian foreign policy approaches and the vision of the regional situation.
