Belarus joined the Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance of November 23, 2007

A ceremony of signing by Belarus of the Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance of November 23, 2007 took place on March 15, 2017. The ceremony was held within the framework of the annual meeting of the Council on General Affairs and Policy of the Hague Conference on Private International Law in the Hague (The Netherlands). On behalf of Belarus the document was signed by Mr Oleg Slizhevsky, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

In his speech during the ceremony Mr Oleg Slizhevsky emphasised that the Convention will serve as the basis for effective cooperation with other state parties in the relevant sphere. 

During the visit by the Belarusian delegation in the Netherlands a meeting between Mr Oleg Slizhevsky and Mr Philippe Couvreur, Registrar of the International Court of Justice took place.
